MaintenanceAll BMPs require periodic maintenance. The inspection and maintenance interval is BMP specific. Maintenance is divided into two types: routine and non-routine. Non-routine maintenance is major pollutant removal and disposal, reconstruction of BMPs, pond dredging, system pump-outs and filter media replacement. Routine maintenance can be as simple as litter/debris removal, unclogging of outlet controls and vegetation control. See the BMP Maintenance section of this website for more information.
